Until the original press reports were seen at the Surrey History Centre, there was some confusion as to the age of the society resulting in a centenary celebration in 1990 - 9 years later than it should have been.

The picture shows our president Stanley Miller and the Mayor of Waverley planting the Liquidamber tree ( below and now rather large!) at the Glebe Centre
To celebrate the millenium the society installed a bench on the hill in Mapledrakes Rd. The seat is still there in January 2026. Picture shows the late Mabel Edwards, Miles Thompson ( chairman at the time) with Millie Breeveld..
